Rispana River bed to be made encroachment free

Dehradun: Taking a strong view of the illegally constructed dairy and other small shops on the Rispana bed, the Mayor directed officials to get rid of all encroachments at Rispana Bridge, Choona Bhatta area with immediate effect.

The Mayor, while ordering strict action and removal of the illegal constructions added that residents had encroached the river banks by constructing illegal dairies and all the waste and garbage are thrown into the river, causing multiple health hazards.

Apart from obstructing the flow of the seasonal river, such constructions pose ground and water pollution risks that will affect the health of Doonites in the long run.

Rispana is just the beginning, one can expect more such surprise inpections by the Mayor who is on a drive to personally ensure that no encroachment takes place in the capital city.
